Sea Route of Nohwashinbi

Nohwa Mystery Sea Route

In Nohwa-eup Shin-ri, there is a mystery 1km-long sea route connecting to Norokdo island.

It is the route of mystery which is ordinarily hidden but shown a few times a year during the Yungdeungsal. A sad myth has been passed down: a male deer lived in Norokdo who deeply missed the female deer living in Dangsan-ri.

Meanwhile, the sea was divided into half and a route was opened for the deer to head to Dangsan-ri to see the female deer. However, it did not manage to meet the female deer and died crossing the sea. As far as the sad story goes, it is a myth. Today, when the mystery sea route is shown, the locals and the tourists can catch cockle, Manila clam, octopus and conch.
